Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and Prince Charles attend the Braemar Highland Games today. The Braemar Gathering is the most famous of the Highland Games and is known worldwide. Each year thousands of visitors descend on this small Scottish village on the first Saturday in September to watch one of the more colourful Scottish traditions. The Gathering has a long history and in its modern form it stretches back nearly 200 years

Prince Philip today visiting Newquay harbour where he met with members of the Cornwall Rowers Association for the Blind. The Prince apparently cracked a few jokes with the people he met today!

In other news, the former aide of the Prince was arrested this week for sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl. Benjamin Herman is being accused of three counts of indecent assault and one attempted indecent assault on a child when he was working for Prince. Herman has stated that he will fight these charges. The police have acquired the Prince’s official diaries from January 1972 to January 1974, the period when Herman is accused of carrying out the attacks. Read more about.

Anonymous asked: So, I've got a question. A friend of mine was talking about Prince Philip, and referred to him as a "racist, old codger". Do you believe that he really is racist, or simply doesn't think before he opens his mouth?

I know one of the mods here answered this question last year. And she agreed that she did think he was racist. I don’t, I think he makes comments that aren’t politically correct, but I don’t think he is a racist. Especially knowing that his mother is a member of the Righteous Among the Nations, and the way his children turned out.

He’s a product of his time, and irl troll, but I don’t think he is racist. I think he just says what comes to his mind, without thinking most of the time
