Are the Danish and Swedish monarchies as concerned about "bloodlines" as the British? I heard the Norwegian monarchy was pretty modern?
Eh, depends. King Olav was against Harald marrying Sonja (a commoner) for the longest time. I believe they dated for 8 or 9 years before they were finally allowed to get married. The backlash against Mette-Marit was pretty severe until the Press Conference. Since then, they’re more modern and more accepting. But Martha Louise gets crap for using her title while she does her angel stuff. The Danish seems to be a little more accepting. Alexandra was greatly accepted into the family, as well as Mary. Marie had some issues at first because she talked to the media so much, but I’m fairly certain she’s loved. I know King Carl-Gustav had issues with Victoria being the heir, but he’s seemed to have become more appreciative of her. Daniel wasn’t accepted by the family at first, but he seemed to have proved himself over time. |
